HOPE to the rescue

Sooo I ran out of makeup recently... I have been so busy to be able to run to Sephora or to Macy's to buy my foundation. What is a girl to do???Well this is my friend Hope (she works with me). She is sooo sweet and so pretty ( and very young). I always ask her what type of foundation she wears. Most of the time she says NOTHING today. Don't you hate that, to be young again AWWW!!
Well yesterday she told  me she has been wearing Maybelline Mouse foundation. I quickly ran to Target after work and bought it. It is cheaper than my other ones and oh my goodness it works!!!!

This is it... so if you want to save a little mula you should try this one!!!!
BTW Hope is 10 yrs younger than me... A girl can dream!!!!

Apples of Gold

Ok sooo here I go again. I am so excited about this new bible study class I started on Tuesday. It is such an awesome class all about hospitality, taking care of your husband, your children and yourself. I love my prayer partner. She is the sweetest lady ever. I have been at my church for many years and I just now started taking classes. WHY???I have no idea why I didn't do this before. I so believe God knows exactly when you're ready for certain things. Friends I am sooo ready for this class. It is part cooking class, part bible study and part meeting new friends at church. I LOVE everything about this class. It is incredible to see how you can learn from other women. ONE thing I will never forget from the first day of class is what our minister's wife told us. If you need advice about children or life in general don't go to  ladies your age, go to older women. They have lived it and can really give you a different outlook on things. WOW!!! This is soooo true, isn't it???Mmkay, guess I'm done now.

PRETTY PICTURE TUESDAY!!!!

I was looking for a special picture and I found this one of David. He grabbed my camera and took a picture of himself last summer. It almost makes him look a bit odd. I LOVE IT!!!
Today was such a fun day. I was able to attend my first Apples of Gold class. This class is so amazing. It's all about hospitality, taking care of your husband, your children and yourself. I have a feeling it will be life changing. The best part is I get to share it with my sweet friend Meredith. I cooked this amazing dinner tonight. Chicken Alfredo Casserole. The recipe coming very soon. Everyone had two servings including myself MOO!!!!
Tomorrow is a big day my sweet Emmy is having minor oral surgery. Please pray for my sweet girl. The house thing is moving right along. I promise I will stop talking about our new house soon. Hope your week is full of blessings and laughter!!!!
Something to think about.....
How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong.  Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.  ~George Washington Carver

Spring is in the air.....

So I just realized Spring is definitely in the air now. I love this season. A time to clean, to let go of the old and to maybe even MOVE!!Yikes that's coming folks, real soon.....

I love beautiful flowers. Why do husbands always think it's a bad idea to buy flowers at the grocery store to decorate the house????My hubby always talks me out of it, oh well:(((

Talking about new things Scentsy's new scent for spring is LUNA.
I am not just sayin' this because I sell this stuff but this scent is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G~
It's such a clean and fresh scent you sooo have to try it.
Ok this is weird, in my family our typical Easter menu includes~~~boiled eggs, refried beans, tortillas, Mexican bread pudding and bar-b-que. I know it's weird. I thought every Hispanic family ate this every Easter but apparently (I've asked around), it's just us~~~NOT NORMAL!!!
I did find this awesome BOILED EGG EASTER BUNNIES you so have to try.
Enjoy this time folks but most importantly remember the TRUE meaning of EASTER!!

Ok so Edelweiss if you read this I know you will LAUGH!!I had to add this gorgeous cake. It was the most delicious cake I have ever had. Chicken Fried Steak Monday!!!!

You guys know how much I love Ree, The Pioneer Woman...
I came across her Chicken Fried Steak recipe today and OH MY GOODNESS
I sooo have to try this. I love her blog and her pictures of every step of the recipe.
I am getting better at cooking you all but I still have some work to do. Here is her blog so you can enjoy other recipes.

Recipe: Chicken Fried Steak

 |   |   |

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Cube Steak (tenderized Round Steak That's Been Extra Tenderized)
  • 1-½ cup Whole Milk, Plus Up To 2 Cups For Gravy
  • 2 whole Large Eggs
  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • Seasoned Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Cayenne
  • LOTS Of Black Pepper. Lots.
  • Canola Oil, For Frying
  • Salt And Pepper, For Both Meat And Gravy

Preparation Instructions

Begin with an assembly line of dishes for the meat: milk mixed with egg in one; flour mixed with spices in one; meat in one; then have one clean plate at the end to receive the breaded meat.
Work one piece of meat at a time. Season both sides with salt and pepper, then dip in the milk/egg mixture. Next, place the meat on the plate of seasoned flour. Turn to coat thoroughly. Place the meat back into the milk/egg mixture, turning to coat. Place back in the flour and turn to coat.
(So: wet mixture/dry mixture/wet mixture/dry mixture.) Place breaded meat on the clean plate, then repeat with remaining meat.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Drop in a few sprinkles of flour to make sure it’s sufficiently hot. Cook meat, three pieces at a time, until edges start to look golden brown; around 2 to 2 1/2 minutes each side.
Remove to a paper towel-lined plate and keep warm. Repeat until all meat is cooked.

Unexpected Blessing

I had an odd experience at work yesterday.  I received a call to help translate for a Spanish speaking patient in our antepartum unit. I was busy so I asked for a translator to be called to help. I hate not translating for my coworkers so I made a call. The translator still had not arrived and the patient was still waiting. I went over to see her and spoke to her nurse briefly. The picture I found was not pretty. She has multiple issues and I felt kind of scared.... anyway I spoke to her and did what I had to do with the official paperwork. I then asked her about her history and her family life. She has family but they don't visit her at all. She said they are all working and will see her Wednesday (this was Friday). I felt so sorry for her. I don't know if she is slow or if she is shy but we soooo bonded. She probably will be there for over 10weeks. Can you imagine being stuck in a hospital, unable to speak English well and not have family to visit you. This sweet lady had no clue how she touched my heart that day but she did.  I cannot imagine the fear, anxiety, and the questions she might be having. I tried to comfort her and I did visit her once again today. It truly made me realize how blessed I am and how sometimes the SMALL things in life are truly no BIG deal at all.
